How we make money, and what it does and doesn't change.
The short version
topmedicalalertsystems.com is free to use. It is funded by providers: we may be paid when we connect you with one — in practice, when you complete our quiz and agree to be contacted about the plans that fit.
What compensation does not affect
- The rankings. Providers are ranked by editorial judgment against the criteria published on our methodology page. The same criteria apply to every provider, and a commercial relationship does not move a provider up the list.
- The labels. "Best for couples", "Longest battery" and the rest describe what a provider is suited to. None of them can be bought.
- What we write. Every review includes a "what to watch" section setting out the provider's genuine weaknesses, regardless of any commercial relationship.
What compensation can affect
- Which providers appear at all. We do not feature every provider on the market, and commercial considerations are one reason a provider may or may not be listed.
What our reviews are based on
Reviews are built from each provider's published specifications and plan terms and other publicly available information. We have not tested these systems hands-on, and figures such as battery life and range are the providers' own. The methodology page explains this in full.
We do not link out to providers
This site carries no links to provider websites and no affiliate tracking parameters. The only way we introduce you to a provider is through the quiz, and only with the consent you give at the end of it. Nothing is passed to anyone before that point.
Listings are not endorsements
The presence of a company on this site does not constitute an endorsement or a recommendation that you buy from it. Plan terms and specifications change frequently, sometimes without notice. Confirm current terms and pricing directly with the provider before purchasing. Except as expressly set out in our Terms of Use, all representations and warranties regarding information on this site are disclaimed.
