How we make money, and what it does and doesn't change.
The short version
topmedicalalertsystems.com is free to use. We are funded entirely by advertising: we receive compensation from some of the companies listed on this site when you click through to them, request a call, or make a purchase.
What compensation affects
- Which providers we can review in depth. Partner relationships give us access to equipment, detailed pricing and support channels. Providers we have no relationship with are harder to review thoroughly, and that is a real limitation of any comparison site, including this one.
- Placement in some lists. Where we present providers outside of a scored ranking (promotional modules, for example), commercial relationships may affect order. Scored rankings are ordered by score.
- Which providers appear at all. We do not feature every provider on the market.
What compensation does not affect
- Scores. The five-factor methodology and its weights are fixed before evaluation and published in full on our methodology page. No provider can purchase a higher score.
- What we write. Every review includes a "what to watch" section identifying the provider's genuine weaknesses, including for partners.
- Ranking order in scored comparisons. Our rankings list providers by score. Where a non-partner outscores a partner, the non-partner ranks higher.
Outbound links
Links to providers are marked rel="nofollow sponsored". Some carry tracking
parameters that let the provider attribute a sale or call to this site. These parameters
carry no personal information about you.
