Privacy policy
What we collect, who we share it with, and how to make us stop.
Who we are
This site is operated by Top Medical Alert Systems, an online comparison service for personal emergency response systems sold in the United States. You can reach us at support@topmedicalalertsystems.com.
What we collect
Information you give us. When you complete our matching quiz we collect your first and last name, email address, telephone number, ZIP code, preferred contact time, and the answers you provide about your situation: who the system is for, where coverage is needed, whether fall detection is a priority, wearing preference and budget range. We also record the date, time and text of the consent you agree to.
Information collected automatically. IP address, browser type and version, device type, referring page, pages visited and time spent, collected through server logs and, where enabled, analytics cookies.
We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18, and we do not ask for and do not want medical records, diagnoses, Social Security numbers or financial account details.
How we use it
- To generate your provider matches and display your results.
- To share your enquiry with matched providers so they can contact you about their products.
- To contact you ourselves about your enquiry, by phone, email or text, as consented.
- To operate, secure and improve the site.
- To comply with legal obligations, including maintaining consent records.
Who we share it with
Matched providers. When you submit the quiz, we share your contact details and quiz answers with up to three matched medical alert providers. They become independent controllers of that information and handle it under their own privacy policies. This is the core purpose of the service and the basis on which it is free.
Service providers. Hosting, email delivery, analytics and CRM vendors who process data on our instructions.
Legal. Where required by law, or to protect our rights or someone's safety.
We do not sell your information to data brokers or to anyone other than the providers you are matched with.
Calls, texts and your TCPA consent
By checking the consent box and submitting the form, you give prior express written consent to be contacted at the telephone number you provide by us and by matched providers, including by automatic telephone dialing system, artificial or prerecorded voice, and SMS, about medical alert products and services. This consent is not a condition of any purchase. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to any text to opt out, or tell any caller to place you on their internal do-not-call list. We retain a record of your consent, including timestamp and the exact wording you agreed to.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access the personal information we hold about you, correct it, delete it, obtain a portable copy, opt out of its sale or sharing and of targeted advertising, and not be discriminated against for exercising these rights. California residents have these rights under the CCPA as amended by the CPRA; residents of Virginia, Colorado, Connecticut, Utah, Texas and other states have comparable rights.
To exercise any of them, email support@topmedicalalertsystems.com. We will verify your identity before acting and respond within the period required by law. You may use an authorised agent.
Note one limitation: once your details have been shared with a matched provider, you must contact that provider directly to have their copy deleted. We will tell you which providers received your information.
Cookies
We use strictly necessary cookies to operate the site, and analytics cookies to understand how it is used. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings; the site will still work. We honour Global Privacy Control signals as an opt-out of sale or sharing where applicable law requires it.
Retention and security
We retain quiz submissions and consent records for as long as needed for the purposes above and to meet legal obligations, generally five years for consent records, which is the period relevant to telemarketing claims. We use industry-standard safeguards, though no method of transmission over the internet is completely secure.
Changes
We will post any changes on this page and update the date at the top. Material changes will be flagged prominently.
